Hello started with a simple realization: the idea of dating apps works. The way they’re built does not.
Dating apps should be convenient and easy. So why are they so frustrating? Because they aren’t built to work. They’re built to keep you swiping, clicking, and paying. They promise meaningful connections and a free way to get started, but once you’re in, you hit walls. You build your profile, then discover that basic functions like seeing who liked you or messaging freely require an upgrade. That frustration isn’t accidental. It’s the business model. And even if the right person is in there somewhere, you’ll wade through a lot of mismatches to find them.
We saw a chance to do things differently. What if a dating app actually worked the way it claimed to? What if the free version was genuinely useful? What if we could build the first dating app that put people before profit?
It would mean a riskier business model and a longer road to profitability. But we believe that when something truly works, people talk about it. Real results create their own momentum.
So Hello was born.
We started by reinventing the intake process. In a world of vastly different beliefs, values, lifestyles, and interests, our challenge was getting to the heart of who someone is without burying them in questions that don’t apply to them. Our adaptive intake system solves that by evolving as you move through it, leaning into what matters most to you and skipping what doesn’t. The result is a shorter list of people you have a real chance of connecting with. It’s the convenience of an app, with the precision of a matchmaker.
We believe dating apps can work. And after all, only one of them needs to work for you.
We hope it’s this one.
Welcome. And Hello.
